7. Late in the Afternoon

Late in the afternoon I heard Him calling

Put away childish things and listen to me.

There's work to be done but the night will soon be falling

so light your lamp now, then in the dark you can see.

Faith is the oil you'll need to keep the the lamp burning. 

Love is the flame that can cheer and light your way.

Hope is knowing that whatever comes tomorrow

I can use for the Good...    on the very next day.

The best of the old redeemed in the birth of the new.

Don't be scared. Don't despair.

God is here, and everywhere...

And what is the purpose of all this struggle around you?

Understanding the ending is beginning to understand.

Singing my song is the way you'll learn the music,

and sharing the music... is really the point in the end.

So keep your eyes set on road that's opens before you.

No need to look back, the past has had its' say.

The future is mine, and I'll guarantee the ending,

but the present is yours, in the choices you make every day.
